Clothing is the toughest task to sort out. Mostly you end up taking all the clothes with probably because of the thought that you will wear it someday. Separate the clothing items in 3 boxes; that you mostly wear, that you have not worn for the past 2 to 3 years, that you might wear. Keep the ones that you will wear. For the other boxes see whether they a hold a traditional value to, for instance, passed on from great-grandmother, or a gift from a loved one. The clothes that do not fit you or are not in wearable condition should be given away.

Furniture

Check which furniture you would want to take with you. Take all the necessary room furniture and also assess the space of your new home. Ask yourself whether you will able to fit all the furniture in your new home or will it be pled in the garage. If you intend to buy some new furniture pieces, it’s better to give away the old ones or that you will not really need.

All the machinery and electronics that you have never used an be sold in different garage sales. Take all the necessary and mostly used electronics items with you and all the ones that you are confused about should either be donated or trashed. All the outdated decoration pieces should also be given away. Old CDs, old collection of books, your old stuffed toys, extra bed sheets, extra blankets, extra makeup, extra utensils should all be given away.

How to Give Away the Stuff

Once you have shortlisted the stuff that you will be keeping, pack them up and mark them and set aside. For all the stuff that you want to get rid of, see their condition. If it’s mostly very old and damaged stuff, then you can call the garage and junk pickup service and give it to them at a reasonable price. If it’s not all junk then pile them together and see which of the items are in proper conditions and you can sell them in a garage sale and get a good price, or if the items are in a good condition you can also donate them in different charities for the less privileged to use them. Try to be atmosphere friendly and see which of the items can be recycled and give them for recycling.
